Protocol Night
At the end of the school year, the Upper School has its Protocol Night, the culmination of formal instruction in etiquette and social graces. On Protocol Night, the students attend a formal dinner at a restaurant and then attend an event such as a play, a concert or a formal dance to put into practice what they have learned during their Protocol instruction.
Ad Fontes Certamen
Each Fall, Ad Fontes hosts a Certamen (Latin competition) at George Mason University. In 2007, AFA hosted more than 70 teams with more than 300 students from surrounding schools for a day of fun, fellowship and intense competition. Ad Fontes parents, students, teachers and alumni come together to offer one of the finest Certamen events in Virginia.
