Julie Washenko

Kindergarten

Mrs. Julie Washenko has a B.S. in Education from James Madison University. She is a native of Virginia and has taught in the state for 12 years. Her experience has been in both public education, as well as private Christian education. Julie and her husband, Greg, attend Broadlands Community Church and have two children who attend Ad Fontes Academy. Mrs. Washenko enjoys spending time with her family, especially watching her children play sports. This is Mrs. Washenko's first year teaching at Ad Fontes Academy.

Janet Cooper

First Grade

Mrs. Cooper joins Ad Fontes Academy from Covenant Christian Academy where she served as a teacher and headmaster. Janet received her A.A. from Oxford College of Emory University and her B.A. from the University of Chicago with a concentration in philosophy. Mrs. Cooper enjoys reading, calligraphy, and spending time with her husband and three children. Mrs. Cooper has taught at Ad Fontes for three years.

Wendy Bloxsome

Second Grade

Mrs. Wendy Bloxsome has a B.A. in Education from Eastern College. She has been teaching for 14 years in the public and homeschool settings with an emphasis on second grade. Wendy and Randy attend Broadlands Community Church and have three children who attend Ad Fontes. Mrs. Bloxsome has taught at Ad Fontes for two years.

Gail Hutchins

Third Grade

Mrs. Hutchins is a native of Virginia and attended James Madison University receiving a B.S. in Computer Science and a minor in math. During the past eight years, Mrs. Hutchins has been teaching in the private and homeschool setting. She is the mother of four boys at Ad Fontes Academy and enjoys scrapbooking and reading. Most recently, Gail and her husband, Peter, took a 5 week vacation across the United States with their children. Mrs. Hutchins has taught at Ad Fontes for four years.

Kyle Brown

Fourth Grade and Physical Education

Mr. Brown has a B.S. from Auburn University, a Master of Arts in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Master of Divinity from Covenant Theological Seminary. Over the last 25 years he has taught children in children's home, church, and school settings. He spent two years serving in Lyon, France as a teacher at the American School in Lyon prior to joining the Ad Fontes faculty last year. Mr. Brown enjoys spending time outdoors with his three children and wife, Carol Brown. Mr. Brown has taught at Ad Fontes for four years.

Jennifer Milligan

Fifth Grade

Mrs. Milligan has a B.A. in history from George Mason University. She has taught grammar school for five years and is a gifted artist and musician as well. Her interests include writing, baking, tea parties, decorating, theater, and ultimate frisbee. Mrs Milligan has taught at Ad Fontes for four years.

Deanna Solomon

Lower School Latin

Mrs. Solomon has a B.A. from the University of Texas with a Major in Classical Studies and a minor in Latin. Her studies took her to Greece, where she spent time traveling throughout the Peloponnesus and Crete. She has over eighteen years experience teaching in the private, church and home school environments. Mrs. Solomon is passionate about Classical Education, reading great literature, sewing and gardening. She lives with her family in Waterford, Va. Mrs. Solomon has taught at Ad Fontes for four years.
